TRUST & SAFETY
Your comfort comes before the conversation.
This page describes the safety controls HoneyCam intends to provide, what happens after a report, and the limits users should understand.
Important: If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. HoneyCam is not an emergency response service.
Controls available during every chat
- Skip: end a conversation immediately without explaining why.
- Block: prevent the blocked account or device from intentionally reconnecting where technically possible.
- Report: send the selected violation reason and relevant safety evidence for review.
- Camera and microphone: switch either off at any time.
How reports are handled
- The user selects a clear report category.
- Automated risk signals prioritize urgent cases.
- A trained reviewer evaluates available evidence against the published guidelines.
- Possible outcomes include a warning, feature restriction, suspension, or permanent ban.
- Users may contact support if they believe an enforcement action was incorrect.
Moderation limits
No moderation system can prevent every harmful interaction. Automated systems can make mistakes, and peer-to-peer video is difficult to review in real time. HoneyCam should describe evidence retention clearly in its final Privacy Policy before launch and should never claim to be “100% safe.”
Protect yourself
- Do not share your full name, address, school, workplace, financial information, passwords, or verification codes.
- Leave if someone pressures you to move to another platform, send money, or reveal private information.
- Remember that another person may record their screen even when the product does not offer recording.
- Report suspected minors. HoneyCam is intended only for adults aged 18 and over.
